    NBA - Director/Senior Director, International Marketing Partnerships

    Position Summary

    Position will have primary responsibility for the coordination, management and supervision of the NBA's international marketing partnerships and properties. Individual will work closely with the NBA's 12 international offices on supporting the management of locally based partnerships and development / implementation of locally based marketing programs (games, events and grassroots properties).

    Major Responsibilities

    I. Accountability for international marketing partner activation procesin conjunction with regional offices including promotional development, media planning, advertising creation and approval, grassroots program planning and event coordination

    II. Coordination with global account teams on the development and implementation of global partners' international marketing activation

    III. Responsible for direct and indirect (depending on scope and scale of project) regional planning, program development, budget management and strategic development and implementation of international marketing properties (e.g. Harlem Globetrotters) and events (e.g. NBA Games, Touring
    Programs)

    IV. Set strategies and develop platforms/properties at a global level;work with regional offices to customize and implement locally

    V. Support international new business efforts as expert on the NBA's international marketing partnerships

    VI. Support / guide international marketing partnership negotiations

    VII. Directly manage international marketing partnerships that originate from US-based companies, including activation development, renewals and upsells

    VIII. Manage NY-based team of at least three full-time employees

    IX. Seek opportunities for growth through increasing size and scope of marketing programs and finding new revenue opportunities

    X. Work cross functionally across all key business lines of digital and television media, business development, events, basketball operations and merchandising to grow international marketing partnerships business

    XI. Constantly seek out synergies and expansion opportunities between US and international programs / partnerships; frequent sharing of information between the regional offices and the US

    XII. Advise and assist regional offices in gaining necessary internal approvals

    Required Skills/Knowledge

    I. Demonstrated ability to effectively build brands and revenues, manage event sponsorships, nurture and grow business alliances within and outside the U.S.

    II. Candidate must be self-directed, with experience working in a dynamic, matrixed environment, preferably a global company

    III. Strong written and verbal communication skills

    IV. Candidate must have experience in contract negotiations

    V. Experience in managing and growing client relationships, as well as managing and working with outside agencies

    VI. Demonstrated creativity and expertise in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans (both for partnerships and properties)

    VII. Experience in managing and motivating others, with attention to professional development of direct-reports

    VIII. Experience in the development and implementation of events, grassroots and/or touring properties

    IX.Strong teamwork, computer and problem-solving skills are essential

    Required Education & Experience

    I. Undergraduate Degree, preferably in marketing or international business

    II. Minimum of 10 years relevant business experience

    III. Experience living and/or working outside the U.S.

    IV. Agency experience in the sports or entertainment industry is preferred

    SUMMARY:

    Turnkey seeks a smart, hard-working, and dedicated professional to play an important role in the analysis of client research and survey results.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES:

    The Project Director will be a dual-role position splitting time between (1)Turnkey’s sales effort with Sports, Entertainment, Agency and Sponsorship prospects and (2)Working with clients to develop and execute their lead capture and survey program initiatives. Specific duties and responsibilities are:

    • Assist SVP in building client base through multiple marketing and networking channels including industry conferences, trade shows, client visits, mailings and outbound sales calls to promote Turnkey Sports & Entertainment and specifically Turnkey Intelligence.
    • Developing a thorough knowledge of the Turnkey Intelligence tools, including data collection platforms and reporting site functionality.
    • Developing an understanding of survey sampling methodologies, sample selection, survey design, and basic statistical analyses.
    • Develop a thorough knowledge of the Turnkey Survey Builder application to ensure survey instruments are programmed correctly and on time.
    • Managing logistics of relevant Turnkey Intelligence projects ensuring surveys are on schedule, instructions are clear and delivered to the appropriate client staff on time, equipment is shipped on time, clients are properly trained to use Turnkey Intelligence platform, and being on-call during client events to answer logistical and operational questions.
    • Analyzing clients' events and venues to determine the best data collection methods and strategies.
    • Working with clients to help them develop appropriate questions and survey instruments that will best achieve their information objectives.
    • Working with clients to acquire volunteer or paid survey staff.
    • Training client staff in the use of Turnkey Intelligence technology including PDA's, web surveys, kiosks and the Turnkey Intelligence reporting tools.
    • Contributing to the continuous development of the Turnkey Intelligence platform by following industry trends, keeping in mind client suggestions and continually generating new ideas.
    • Assisting with any other tasks assigned by Senior Vice President, or President.



    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience conducting market research: creating/designing survey instruments, data collection, analysis and reporting.
    • Experience working in the sports and entertainment sponsorship industry is preferred.
    • Experience working in collegiate athletics is preferred.
    • High energy with a tremendous work ethic and a passionate interest in pursuing a career in sports.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, the social sciences, or other field of study requiring competency with statistics or equivalent experience.
    • Sales experience desirable.
    • Experience working at live sports and entertainment events desirable.
    • Experience working with survey sampling, survey design, and survey data analysis desirable.
    • Must be willing to work nights and weekends as necessary.
    • Must be able to travel as necessary.
